CNA / Transporter
About The Position
Harborview Medical Center's Centralized Transport Unit is seeking a CNA / Transporter. This position is 90% FTE (36 hours per week) on the Day shift. The role involves transporting patients and supplies to all areas of the hospital, completing transports efficiently, and understanding the importance of patient flow. The successful candidate will collaborate with the Registered Nurse to understand patient care needs and utilize them during transport if necessary (e.g., oxygen). They will use technology to respond to transport requests, escalate concerns, and remain knowledgeable about safe transportation practices, utilizing effective and clear communication skills.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Active Nursing Assistant-Certified (CNA) with the State of Washington
- A minimum of 1-year of CNA experience
Responsibilities
- Transporting patients and supplies to all areas of the hospital
- Completes transports in an efficient manner, understanding the importance and impact of patient flow throughout the hospital
- In collaboration with the Registered Nurse, understands patient care needs and utilizes them during transport if necessary (i.e., oxygen)
- Utilize technology to respond to transport requests and escalate transport concerns
- Remains knowledgeable about safe transportation practices
- Utilizes effective and clear communication skills
