Under the direction of supervisory nursing staff, the CNA Trainee provides daily care for assigned residents and assists in the development of nursing care plans by participating in care conferences. The trainee period is a maximum of 120 days from the date of hire. During classroom training, direct supervision is provided by the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and potentially additional trainers. During supervised clinical training on resident units, supervision is provided by the Program Coordinator, Program Primary Instructor, and potentially additional Nurse Aide Trainee Clinical Supervisors. Following formal training, while awaiting NYS Competency Exam results, nurse aide trainees may be supervised by Nurse Managers, Charge Nurses, and Team Leaders across all three shifts.
