About The Position

Harborview Medical Center – Telesitter Program has an opportunity for a CNA / Telesitter position. This role provides monitoring from a central monitoring center for patients who require continuous video monitoring for safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing visual monitoring for safe patient observation through video/active microphone technology, demonstrating understanding and proficiency in EPIC Monitor software, camera monitoring equipment, and additional communication platforms. They will communicate with patients and intervene to maintain patient safety by verbally prompting the patient to behave safely until their care team arrives. Additionally, they will rapidly alert the patient’s care team of a monitored patient’s unsafe activity or care need via communication technologies such as via phone or Epic Rover application. The role also involves assisting medical and nursing staff by performing delegated tasks that involve direct patient care, such as in-person patient monitoring, assisting patients with toileting, bathing, and nutrition, transportation of patients, supplies, and specimens, ordering and stocking of supplies, and maintenance/set up of special equipment. As directed by nursing staff, the role may also include checking patient glucose levels or removing Foley catheters.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Active Nursing Assistant-Certified (CNA) with the State of Washington
  • A minimum of 1-year of CNA experience
