About The Position

Aegis Therapies, a leading provider of rehabilitation and wellness services, is hiring a CNA Restorative - Rehab Tech to work with their Rehab Therapy Team. This full-time position involves up to 40 hours per week with a weekend rotation, and is based in a Rehabilitation Center, Skilled Nursing Facility, or Senior Care Wellness setting in Aberdeen, SD. The role offers up to $17.50 per hour and provides significant career advantages within a supportive team environment. The CNA/Wellness Instructor for Restorative Care will report to the Director of Rehabilitation/Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team, focusing on delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs. Full restorative training will be provided onsite, and no prior restorative experience is necessary, though a CNA certification is required. The position focuses on the restorative care of patients, including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, and splint/prosthesis care, with limited involvement in less desirable CNA tasks.

Requirements

  • Current certification as Certified Nursing Assistant / CNA in state of practice
  • High School diploma or equivalent, preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • No restorative experience necessary
  • Specialty certification as personal trainer, exercise specialist, fitness instructor, health and fitness specialist or similar area, preferred.
  • Background in exercise and activity training with senior populations, preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Report to the Director of Rehabilitation / Therapy and work exclusively with the therapy team to provide knowledge and expertise in delivering appropriate wellness, fitness, and exercise programs.
  • Assist in the restorative care of patients as directed.
  • Exclusive restorative responsibilities including ambulation, transfer training, bed mobility, active/passive range of motion, dressing/grooming, splint/prosthesis care.
  • Assist in patient treatment or set-up, as appropriate, under supervision of licensed therapist and only as determined by state practice acts, federal regulation or payor.
  • May provide non skilled service delivery pre or post therapy intervention in accordance with state and federal regulations to support patient progress.
  • Participate in treatment location in-service training programs.
  • Assist with cleaning and maintenance of treatment area and department.
  • Assist with administrative and scheduling tasks.
  • Maintain adequate stock of supplies and equipment.
  • Protect patients and employees by adhering to treatment location infection control policies and protocols and keeping information confidential per company and federal requirements.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with treatment location and department procedures, rules and regulations.
  • Ensure proper operation of equipment by complying with company procedures and following manufacturer’s instructions.
