About The Position

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)/Qualified Medication Aide (QMA) Field Proctor administers practical CNA exams in approved facilities according to guidelines issued by the Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) and Ivy Tech Community College. The role verifies candidates’ competency in Resident Care Procedures (RCP) skills, documents complete test batteries, maintains confidentiality and professionalism, and returns results to Ivy Tech on a time-sensitive basis. The proctor also ensures test rooms meet IDOH guidelines and travels within Indiana as needed. This is a contracted position dependent on the continuing contract with IDOH and is not a permanent college position.

Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse license; proof of an active nursing license must be furnished.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule and travel within Indiana as needed.
• Ability to attend training sessions and complete all training requirements.
• Excellent interpersonal communication, telephone, and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
• Ability to promote an inclusive environment in which people from diverse backgrounds feel respected and valued.

Nice To Haves

• Experience as a long-term care or program director/instructor.

Responsibilities

• Provide test administration duties in approved facilities.
• Verify competency in Resident Care Procedures (RCP) skills.
• Record and document a complete test battery for candidates.
• Conduct tests with confidentiality, professionalism, and efficiency.
• Record and return testing results to Ivy Tech Community College on a time-sensitive basis.
• Ensure test room setup complies with IDOH guidelines.
• Travel within Indiana as required.
• Attend training sessions and complete all training requirements.
• Perform other duties logically associated with the position as assigned.
