About The Position

Harborview Medical Center has outstanding opportunities for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) positions. These are regular, 90% FTE (36 hours per week) positions with various shift openings including Night Shift and Day shift on units such as General/Trauma Surgery, Inpatient Trauma Rehabilitation, Neuro Acute Care, Psych ICU, and Trauma/Surgical ICU. The primary responsibilities include providing direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting patients with activities of daily living, maintaining a safe environment, patient transportation, preparing patients for surgery, performing non-invasive lab procedures, transporting equipment and supplies, assisting with treatments, performing clerical tasks, and taking vital signs.

Requirements

Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date

Responsibilities

Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
Maintain a safe environment of care
Patient transportation
Prepare patients for surgery
Perform non-invasive lab procedures
Transport equipment and supplies
Assist with treatments
Perform various clerical tasks
Take vital signs
