CNA / Patient Care Technician
About The Position
Harborview Medical Center has outstanding opportunities for Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) positions. These positions are 90% FTE (36 hours per week) and are available on various units including General/Trauma Surgery, Inpatient Trauma Rehabilitation, Neuro Acute Care, Psych ICU, and Trauma/Surgical ICU. The roles involve direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assisting with daily living activities, maintaining a safe environment, patient transportation, preparing patients for surgery, performing non-invasive lab procedures, transporting equipment and supplies, assisting with treatments, and performing clerical tasks. The pay range is $28.83 - $41.27 hourly, with additional compensation for evening, night, and weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
- High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting; OR equivalent education/experience.
- Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date
Responsibilities
- Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
- Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
- Maintain a safe environment of care
- Patient transportation
- Prepare patients for surgery
- Perform non-invasive lab procedures
- Transport equipment and supplies
- Assist with treatments
- Perform various clerical tasks
- Take vital signs
