About The Position

Park Avenue Villa is a 37-unit assisted living facility that promotes independent living and provides a range of daily services including meals, housekeeping services, social events, personal care and 24-hour emergency response. We are currently seeking a compassionate and dedicated Medication Aide/Nursing Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing quality personal care to our tenants, as well as supporting their physical and emotional well-being. This ad is for a full-time (30 hours per week), evening shift (1:45 PM to 10:00 PM) position. Rotating weekends and holidays are required. Retention bonus available to qualified new hires.

Requirements

  • Capability to commute reliably to and from workplace in all weather conditions.
  • Authorization to work in the United States.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and pleasantly with residents and teammates.
  • Must be at least 16 years of age and able to follow written and verbal direction.
  • High school or equivalent education required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action.
  • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, tenants, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel, and the public.
  • Must possess the ability and willingness to work professionally, independently, and have the flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with tenants, teammates, and support agencies.
  • Must have patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
  • Must be in good general health and demonstrate emotional stability.
  • Must be able to lift, push, pull, and move a minimum of 50 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Related work experience in an assisted living facility preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administer prescribed medication in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
  • Maintain accurate medication records and documentation.
  • Follow care plans and communicate any changes in tenant condition to the nursing team.
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse.
  • Assist tenants with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Play a key role in building strong and meaningful relationships with our tenants.
  • Assist with meal service.
  • Adhere to all safety and infection control policies and procedures
  • Follow established safety and infection control policies and procedures.
