About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring part-time RCA/CNA's at The Residence at Chadds Ford. This role involves providing special services and care as designed by the Habilitative curriculum required by individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias. This includes personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, all while upholding the dignity, independence, choice, and individuality of each resident. The duties of a Resident Care Associate include delivering services as written on the approved service plan for each resident.

Requirements

Ability to use computer for documenting services provided.
Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.
Completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
Must maintain required certification and to provide copies of the documentation to the Resident Care Director or designee.
Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living to residents, visitors, co-workers and the surrounding community.
Have an active role in growing community occupancy by representing and interacting positively with potential residents, family members and professionals.
Successfully complete the community's and any state required orientation training program.
Assisting residents with medications according to State Regulations and LCB Policies and Procedures. Making the required record entries at appropriate times, and making the appropriate notifications to the nurse concerning medications.
Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences. Provides assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions, as needed, for residents to be as independent as possible in their activities of daily living including and not limited to: bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, assist in dining, and mobility. Takes initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
Monitors for changes in resident needs, preferences and health status. Reports/documents any noticed changes at once to the RN or designee.
Assisting Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
Assisting Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
Assisting Residents with keeping their units neat, clean and orderly.
Answering emergency calls and attending to the Residents needs promptly.
Participate in the community's regularly scheduled in-service training programs. Participate in specialized staff training programs and mandatory education requirements dictated by State Regulations.
Assists with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
Documents both scheduled and unscheduled service that are provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out of the ordinary events, including a residents refusal of services. Inputs information in to the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
Initiates, conducts and facilitates programming, including Habilitative / therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity and spiritual connection.
Demonstrates Habilitative/therapeutic/Engagement conversation and redirection conversation with residents, offering appropriate cues.
Ability to manage difficult resident behaviors.
Other duties as requested.
