About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring a CNA / CHHA at The Residence at Bedford. This role provides for the needs of the elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support in a manner that supports the dignity, independence, choice, and individuality of each resident. The duties include the delivery of services as written on the approved service plan for each Resident. The company promotes its mission and core values, expects associates to have an active role in growing community occupancy, and requires successful completion of orientation training. Responsibilities include assisting residents with medications, engaging residents in meaningful interactions and activities of daily living, monitoring for changes in resident needs, assisting with clothing and laundry, assisting residents with bedtime routines, helping residents keep their units neat, answering emergency calls, participating in training programs, escorting residents to meals and engagement activities, documenting services provided, and conducting/facilitating programming.

Requirements

  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Successfully complete the community's and any State orientation training program.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences.
  • Provide assistance, encouragement, and restorative interventions for residents' activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status and report/document changes to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, out-of-the-ordinary events, and resident refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
