About The Position

LCB Senior Living is hiring CNAs and CHHAs at The Residence at Stafford. This role involves providing for the needs of elders, including personal care, therapeutic programming, safety, and emotional support, while upholding their dignity, independence, choice, and individuality. The duties include delivering services as outlined in each resident's approved service plan. Associates are expected to actively contribute to community occupancy growth by positively representing the community to potential residents, families, and professionals. All new associates must complete the community's and any State orientation training program. Responsibilities include assisting residents with medications, engaging them in meaningful interactions and activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility), monitoring for changes in resident needs and health status, assisting with clothing and laundry, assisting residents with bedtime routines, helping residents maintain neat and orderly living spaces, responding promptly to emergency calls, participating in ongoing in-service training programs and specialized staff training as required, escorting residents to meals and activities, documenting services provided (including incidents, behaviors, and refusals) and inputting information into the community computer tracking system, and conducting and facilitating programming for cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection. Other duties may be requested.

Requirements

  • Must have completed the course for certified nursing assistant or have equivalent training or experience as required by State Regulation.
  • Must have CPR and First Aide training as mandated by the State employed.
  • Prior experience providing direct care or the equivalent in training preferred.
  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.
  • Current license/certification as required by State Regulation.
  • Demonstrates computer literacy and familiarity with office software, including but not limited to word processing or demonstrate the ability to learn data input.
  • Fluent in the ability to communicate in the English language, both oral and written.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in caring for seniors with Alzheimer's disease or other forms of Dementia is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Promote the mission and core values of the Residence and LCB Senior Living.
  • Represent and interact positively with potential residents, family members and professionals to grow community occupancy.
  • Successfully complete the community's and any State orientation training program.
  • Assist residents with medications according to State Regulation and LCB Policies, making required record entries and notifications.
  • Actively engage residents in meaningful interactions and experiences, providing assistance and encouragement for independence in activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, dining, mobility).
  • Take initiative in engaging in group and individual engagement.
  • Monitor for changes in resident needs, preferences, and health status, and report/document any noticed changes to the RN or designee.
  • Assist Residents with clothing and laundry needs as per the service plan.
  • Assist Residents in going to bed at night, when necessary.
  • Assist Residents with keeping their units neat, clean, and orderly.
  • Answer emergency calls and attend to Residents' needs promptly.
  • Participate in the community's regularly scheduled on-going in-service training programs and specialized staff training programs.
  • Assist with escorting residents to meals and engagement as needed or directed.
  • Document both scheduled and unscheduled services provided, including incidents, behaviors, and out of the ordinary events, including a resident's refusal of services.
  • Input information into the community computer tracking system regarding services provided to residents.
  • Conduct and facilitate programming, including therapeutic groups and individual interaction, that offer cognitive stimulation, socialization, physical activity, and spiritual connection.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
