About The Position

Nebraska Medicine is seeking Nursing Assistants to work within the PES- Psychiatric Emergency Services unit in Omaha, NE. This unique unit's primary focus is to help individuals experiencing a mental health crisis/emergency. The role involves performing delegated patient activities as assigned by licensed nursing personnel for the achievement of the patient's plan of care. Requirements

  • Minimum of 16 years of age required (for CNA role).
  • Possesses a Certified Nursing Assistant certification in the state of Nebraska required (for CNA role).
  • Demonstrated effective communication skills required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire required, must be from an American Heart Association (AHA) endorsed program (effective for new hires starting January 1, 2023 or later).
  • Minimum of 18 years of age required (for Nursing Assistant role).
  • High school education or equivalent required (for Nursing Assistant role).
  • Six months experience in patient care required or must be enrolled in nursing program (for Nursing Assistant role).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Direct patient care experience preferred (for Nursing Assistant role).
