About The Position

Saint Alphonsus Regional Medical Center in Boise is looking to hire a CNA/Nurse Apprentice/Nursing Assistant to join their nursing team. This position is for the Mother/Baby Unit located at their Level II Trauma Center in Boise. The role involves supporting clinical staff by performing clerical, receptionist, and patient service coordination duties. Additionally, the position entails performing various nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary for patient comfort and personal needs, under the supervision of a licensed nurse. This includes ensuring the accuracy of documenting services and supplies, providing direct service to Licensed Independent Practitioners to assist in patient care, facilitating customer service with clear communication to patients and families, and removing non-controlled medications from deliver points to be handed directly to an RN or placed in a secure location.

Requirements

  • Certified Nursing Assistant Certification issued by the State of Idaho OR maintain a current Nurse Apprentice application on file with the Idaho State Board of Nursing or complete the Trinity Health Nursing Assistant Program
  • Basic Life Support for Healthcare providers certification from either AHA, ARC or the Military Training Network is required at hire in all units, unless currently certified in ACLS and/or PALS as defined in the SAHS Certification Crosswalk.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and skills to competently care for all assigned age groups (Neonate, Child, Adolescent, Adult, and Geriatric as applicable).

Nice To Haves

  • Six months Certified Nursing Assistant experience in an acute care setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support clinical staff at the unit level by performing clerical, receptionist and patient service coordination.
  • Perform various nursing care services and related non-professional services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients, as those of the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) under the direction and supervision of the licensed nurse.
  • Ensure the accuracy of documenting services and supplies provided to the patients.
  • Provide direct high quality service to Licensed Independent Practitioner (LIP) to assist in patient care activities.
  • Facilitate high quality customer service, communicating clearly with patients and families.
  • Remove non controlled medications from deliver points (such as tube stations) and hands directly to RN or places in secure location.
