About The Position

The Patient Care Technician/Certified Nursing Assistant (PCT/CNA) provides appropriate safe basic care to patients which includes taking vital signs, assisting patients with activities of daily living, specimen collection, and observation of patients for physical/emotional changes. Other duties include recording pertinent information in patient charts, communicating with other Patient Care Team members to ensure continuity of care, and may function in a role providing constant supervision to patients as needed. Duties may vary according to department expectations and needs. The unit cares for patients who have Neurological and Neurosurgical needs, such as patients who have had a stroke, neck and back surgery, or seizures. Many of these patients require assistance with daily cares due to their condition.

Requirements

  • CNA-Certified Nurses Assistant
  • CPR American Heart Association HealthCare Provider BLS

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Six months experience in a clinical healthcare environment
  • Six months experience in supporting physical, emotional and psycho-social needs of patients
