About The Position

The Joe Lueken Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join their team on a part-time basis. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing basic patient care services and supporting various activities within their ambulatory services. Requirements

  • Good human relations and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow procedures and instructions given by the licensed nurse.
  • Ability to acquire a basic knowledge of patient care principles, medical terminology and equipment within the assigned service area.
  • Certification and registration with the Minnesota Board of Nursing Assistant Registry is required.

Responsibilities

  • Assists nursing personnel with a variety of patient care activities and related services necessary in caring for the personal needs and comfort of patients.
  • Performs under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
  • Assist with clinical duties as delegated within roles and responsibilities, personalized training and competency, and needs of specific ambulatory setting.
  • Assists with taking vital signs.
  • Maintains stock of medical supplies needed for registered nurse or physician.
  • Complies with all patient duties assigned.
  • Serves as caregiver to the patient during the scheduled work period.
  • Administer delegated tasks and treatments.
  • Record vital statistics and other basic health information.
  • Provide assistance with basic health care needs including rooming the patients, daily living activities; emotional and spiritual needs.
  • Collect non-invasive biological specimens from patients as needed.
  • Perform clerical work related to scheduling and documenting patient healthcare.
  • Prepare patient treatment areas for use; prepare and clean medical equipment; dispose of biomedical waste in accordance with standards and policy.
  • Clean patient areas or treatment rooms.
