About The Position

Located in Lakewood, Colorado, St. Anthony Hospital is a Level I Trauma Center where they provide a full range of medical specialties and health care services to Denver and the surrounding region through their state-of-the-art medical campus and home base for Flight For Life® Colorado. With four trauma rooms including the T-10 room, a dedicated field-to-surgery suite ready 24/7 for trauma surgeons and specially trained teams, their staff can provide life-saving care to the most severely ill and injured patients. In 2023, they received their Magnet designation. They have received numerous other awards, certifications, and accreditations from the American Heart Association; Chest Pain Center (CPC); American College of Cardiology; The Joint Commission’s National Quality Approval; the Emergency Nurses Association Lantern Award; NAPBC Accreditation; American College of Radiology and many others. At St. Anthony Hospital, they combine a heritage of expert care with the latest in technology and innovation. This role is for someone looking to be part of a fast-paced environment where they can practice to the top of their profession in trauma, cardiology, stroke, neurosciences, breast imaging, cancer/oncology care, surgery and more. The 5th Floor Medical Surgical department at St. Anthony Hospital, an achieved Magnet® hospital, is a 36-bed medical surgical unit specializing in neuro, trauma, and ortho. This department is the main service line for patients that need the care that a Level 1 Trauma Center Provides. Patients are from all age groups (usually 16 years and above) with occasional overflow of general med/surg patients. They have a strong culture of teamwork where they pride themselves on delivering high quality, safe patient care. The team is a committed, caring group of colleagues who have a passion for creating positive patient interactions. The medical surgical unit lends itself to developing great relationships with coworkers and they work together to provide excellent patient care. A good candidate for the 5th floor would be someone who prides themselves in being a team player, has a positive attitude, open communication skills, hard-working, dedicated, and accountable. This unit is a great starting point for someone interested in a future in Critical Care.

Requirements

  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Basic computer skills
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • Graduate of a Nursing Assistant Program required
  • State registered CNA license required

Nice To Haves

  • Six months previous CNA experience preferred
  • Previous customer service experience preferred
  • Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) Training preferred. CPI training required if sitting with M-1 holds

Responsibilities

  • Provides direct and indirect nursing care under the direction of a RN and in accordance with policies and procedures.
