About The Position

CNA – LVAD Cardiac Transplant Unit at Providence St. Vincent Medical Center. This posting represents an ON-CALL position, day shift opening (7am-7:30pm, 12 hour shifts) with rotating weekends. The Certified Nursing Assistant assists a Registered Nurse (RN) in providing comprehensive nursing care by performing specified duties and functions under the direct supervision of the RN. CLERICAL: Initiates and prioritizes transcription of provider orders. Assembles and maintains patient charts, current forms and results/reports. COMMUNICATION: Serves as the hub of all communication for the unit. Displays professional interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, public and staff. Serves as front-line customer service representative.

Requirements

  • Oregon Nursing Assistant Certification License
  • National Provider BLS - American Heart Association

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year Experience as a CNA.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to a high functioning team
  • Assist RN with admissions, discharges, and transfers
  • Measure and record vital signs, output, and weights
  • Collect specimens and perform fingerstick capillary blood tests
  • Assist with client mobility and transfers, using lifts and safe patient handling devices
  • Initiates and prioritizes transcription of provider orders.
  • Assembles and maintains patient charts, current forms and results/reports.
  • Serves as the hub of all communication for the unit.
  • Displays professional interpersonal skills when communicating with patients, public and staff.
  • Serves as front-line customer service representative.
