About The Position

The Inpatient CNA works 12-hour shifts from 7 to 7, with day and night shifts available. The role provides personal care to hospice patients and maintains the immediate patient environment. The CNA follows the aide care plan and provides care in accordance with state and federal requirements, accepted standards of practice, organizational policies and procedures, and Circle of Life's mission. The position requires travel to patient homes using a personal vehicle.

Requirements

• Arkansas Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• Current CPR certification.
• Current satisfactory TB skin test documentation.
• At least one year of experience in a healthcare environment.
• Ability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses.
• Team-player approach and unquestionable personal and professional ethics.
• Ability to use a personal vehicle to travel to patient homes.
• Valid Arkansas Driver's License, current auto liability insurance, and reliable transportation.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with terminally ill patients is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct personal care, including bathing, turning, shampooing, and oral hygiene.
• Follow the aide care plan when providing services, assessing patients, intervening, and exercising clinical judgment.
• Provide patient care according to applicable state and federal requirements, accepted standards of practice, policies and procedures, and Circle of Life's mission.
• Make timely evaluation, information, follow-up, regular scheduled, unscheduled, and time-of-death visits.
• Maintain a consistent level of care regardless of the home environment or personal preferences.
• Communicate concerns promptly to the primary nurse and document them in aide notes.
• Maintain professional licensure and participate in educational programs and professional development.
• Maintain dependable attendance with minimal absences.
• Participate in staff meetings as requested.
• Assist with mentoring new staff members.
