About The Position

Under the supervision of the registered nurse, the NA will assist patients across the age continuum (4 weeks to geriatric) with activities of daily living, providing basic nursing care to patients and assist in the maintenance of a safe and clean environment. The NA must demonstrate the ability to provide clerical support and receptionist duties to enhance delivery of patient care. The NA must demonstrate the ability to work under pressure and in situations that demand patience, tact, stamina and endurance. The primary objective of this position is to assure the delivery of comprehensive, safe, effective, cost effective and appropriate nursing care for patients across the age continuum in accordance with established hospital policy, nursing practice standards. The NA must demonstrate the ability to assist physicians in procedures.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent, with documented certification as a nursing assistant
  • CNAI certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; certification must be through an AHA or ARC accredited course.
  • At least one (1) year of previous experience in a hospital based or ambulatory surgical center
  • Able to work independently and meet established deadlines.
  • Able to make sound reasonable decisions
  • Highly organized
  • Ability to concentrate on many detailed requests despite numerous interruptions.
  • Demonstrates accountability, professionalism, openness; is receptive to change, and exhibits creativity and innovation.
  • Ability to identify and calmly handle inherently stressful situations with tact.
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to develop excellent working relationships with consumers and staff.
  • Seeks guidance, direction and assistance when needed
  • Ability to be flexible and take on new responsibilities

Nice To Haves

  • CNA II certification preferred
  • Previous experience with medical records and computer skills preferred
