CNA- Inpatient Unit- Nights
About The Position
Lightways Hospice and Serious Illness Care, an independent, nonprofit healthcare provider licensed in 11 counties in northwest Illinois, is seeking a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) for their inpatient unit. Founded in 1982, the organization provides exceptional serious illness care, hospice care, and grief support for adults and children. While most direct patient care is provided in the home, nursing facilities, or assisted living facilities, Lightways also operates a 24-bed inpatient unit in Joliet. Non-clinical staff are based out of the Joliet administrative offices. As a member of the dynamic inpatient team, the CNA will provide quality patient care and assist patients with their Activities of Daily Living (ADLs).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Meets the training requirements of Illinois
- Current CNA certification
Nice To Haves
- Prior experience in hospital setting, nursing home or long-term care preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide compassionate care, emotional support, and companionship to patients and families
- Assist with personal care, mobility, and daily living activities
- Monitor, document, and report patient condition and changes to the RN
- Ensure patient safety and proper use of equipment
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment
- Follow care plans, policies, and participate in training and team activities
