About The Position
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing compassionate and professional care to patients during Shift 1. The role involves assisting with daily living activities, monitoring patient conditions, and supporting the healthcare team in delivering high-quality behavioral health services.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience working as a Certified Nursing Assistant in a healthcare setting.
- Strong understanding of patient care practices and protocols.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations.
- Proficient in basic computer skills and electronic health record systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage stressful situations with composure.
- Compassionate and empathetic approach to patient care.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in a behavioral health environment is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding.
- Monitor and document patient vital signs, behaviors, and symptoms, and report any changes to the nursing staff.
- Support the healthcare team by ensuring a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Help transport patients to different areas within the facility as needed.
- Participate in patient care planning and collaborate with the healthcare team to provide holistic care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all healthcare regulations and guidelines.
- Engage with patients in a respectful and empathetic manner to promote their well-being and recovery.
- Assist with the preparation and maintenance of patient records and documentation.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients to enhance their comfort and quality of life.
