About The Position

Provides patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse and performs activities in accordance with approved policies and guidelines. Performs a variety of clerical and related duties in the emergency department. Facilitates communication among patients, visitors, nursing staff, and other health care team members to promote effective working relationships.

Requirements

• Certification of completion of Nursing Assistant II classes.
• Meet North Carolina State Board of Nursing requirements and be registered as a Nurse Aide II on the registry.
• Meet Division of Facility Services requirements for NA I listing.
• Maintain BLS certification.
• CPI certification is required.
• High school diploma or equivalent is required, or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
• Skill in dealing tactfully with patients, nursing staff, physicians, hospital employees, and the general public.
• Knowledge of personal computers, medical terminology, lab tests, typing, and basic grammar.
• Ability to transport patients.
• Competence with basic office duties, including basic computer skills and dealing tactfully with physicians, staff, and all patient populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Perform activities in accordance with approved policies and guidelines.
• Perform clerical and related duties in the emergency department.
• Facilitate communication among patients, visitors, nursing staff, and other health care team members.
• Transport patients.
• Complete the blood collection inner facility training program within 60 days of hire.
• Perform basic office duties, including answering telephones, filing, and customer service.

Benefits

• Sign-on bonus: $4,000 for full-time employees and $2,640 for part-time employees.
