About The Position

The CNA I, Day Programs will support the adult day services programs by assisting with medication administration, personal care needs, activities of daily living, food service and all other day-to-day, hands-on services deemed necessary for the smooth operation of Goodwill’s Day Programs.

Requirements

  • A current Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) License is required
  • QMAP (Qualified Medication Administration) training or willingness to obtain training (within 90-days of employment).
  • CPR/First Aid training or willingness to obtain training (within 90-days of employment).
  • Ability to interact and work cooperatively and effectively with consumers, coworkers, supervisors, family members, and community referral sources.
  • Ability to respond to special requests on short notice.
  • Function as an active and contributing team member.
  • Complete assigned tasks completely, accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Communicate effectively.
  • Conduct self in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a professional appearance that enhances the firm’s reputation.

Nice To Haves

  • A High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
  • Previous experience with the elderly population or IDD population is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Attend to all personal needs of clients to include toileting, dressing, feeding, transferring, lifting, and showering as needed.
  • Administer and monitor medications daily and keep appropriate records.
  • Assist with activities, meals, and snacks.
  • Communicate with medical and other professionals and caregivers in order to implement necessary changes, confirm treatment or handle emergencies.
  • Fill out all necessary daily records regarding arrival and departure and services given per client.
  • Document appropriate responsibilities such as medication and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and Medication Administration Record (MAR).
  • Communicate in a timely manner and keep the Supervisor II, LPN Day Programs informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information.
  • Deal effectively and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as required by the Supervisor II, LPN Day Programs.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings as required.
  • Maintain a good working knowledge of Goodwill of Colorado’s policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional related duties as requested by the Supervisor II, LPN Day Programs.
