About The Position

Tidewell Hospice, a member of Empath Health, is seeking a caring and motivated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to work on a PRN basis in Port Charlotte. The role supports patients and families receiving hospice care, with assignments at the Port Charlotte, Arcadia, Venice, and Village on the Isle Hospice Houses. The schedule is overnight, from 8:00 p.m. to 8:30 a.m., and the colleague must be able to commit to 64 hours per month. The CNA carries out the organization’s mission, vision, and values; performs only the personal care and home-maintenance activities specified in a written Hospice Aide Plan of Care; reports unusual patient conditions, incidents, or patient/family interactions to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse; works within the Hospice Aide scope of practice; and maintains patient and family confidentiality.

Requirements

Valid Florida Board of Nursing CNA certification/license.
Commit to 64 hours per month.
One to three years of training and/or experience.
A valid Florida State Driver’s License is required only if the colleague chooses to drive when reassigned to another facility; an alternative mode of transportation may be chosen at the colleague’s own expense. Mileage reimbursement may apply when traveling between facilities on company time.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in a long-term care facility is strongly preferred.

Recognize and report unusual patient conditions, incidents, or patient/family interactions to the patient’s nurse or supervisory nurse.

Maintain the utmost respect for patient and family confidentiality.
