About The Position

Amedisys is seeking a part-time, day-shift CNA Home Health Aide to help patients heal at home. The role supports patients with personal care and daily activities, helps maintain a safe and healthy environment, monitors and reports changes in patient status, and follows the written plan of care and care center procedures. Compensation is $13.50–$17.25; pay may vary by location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Current state certification or registration as a nurse assistant, as required by state certification or registration requirements.
• CNA experience within the last two years; if experience was more than two years ago, complete another training and competency program before providing services.
• Successfully pass the care center competency program.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtain patients’ temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and respiration.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy environment.
• Assist patients with getting in and out of bed, bathing, hygiene, and toileting.
• Prepare and provide meals and/or assist patients with meals.
• Perform light homemaking and other environmental services.
• Observe, report, and document changes in patient status.
• Understand basic elements of body functioning and report changes in a patient's body functions as indicated.
• Recognize emergency situations and implement appropriate emergency procedures according to care center policy.
• Follow care center procedures for infection prevention and control, hazardous waste handling, and safety measures.
• Follow specific written instructions for personal care in accordance with the plan of care.
• Assist patients with prescribed exercises as instructed by a nurse or therapist.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
