The CNA Float Scheduler is responsible for maintaining schedules in a staffing/scheduling program, generating reports from this program, and preparing staffing information for shifts. This role involves assigning staff with review by a Manager or RN House Coordinator, deploying fiscally responsible staffing, and informing nursing units of assigned staff. The scheduler also completes shift report sheets and daily scheduling sheets, facilitates the placement of orients to correct units/areas of need, and assists with staff education. Basic computer skills for data entry, proficiency with electronic patient documentation, and professional phone etiquette are essential. The role also requires floating to various units based on identified patient care needs and transporting patients within the facility as directed. Participation in department or unit performance improvement activities is also expected.
