About The Position

UW Medical Center-Northwest Behavioral Health - Long Term Civil Commitment has an outstanding opportunity for a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) / Patient Care Technician (PCT) position. This is a 90% FTE (36 hours per week) regular position with a night shift schedule. The role involves providing direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse. Responsibilities include assisting patients with daily living activities, maintaining a safe environment, patient transportation, preparing patients for surgery, performing non-invasive lab procedures, transporting equipment and supplies, assisting with treatments, performing clerical tasks, and taking vital signs.

Requirements

  • Current, valid Certified Nursing Assistant Certification (NAC) with WA State (please indicate your NA-C credential number on your resume)
  • High School graduation and six months experience involving direct patient care or customer service in a health care setting
  • Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
  • Valid American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider CPR card by start date
  • At least one year of CNA Psych experience in Psych Facility or hospital or unit.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and indirect care to patients and their families under the general supervision of the Registered Nurse
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living: bathing, showering, dressing, getting in and out of bed or a chair, walking, using the toilet, and eating
  • Maintain a safe environment of care
