Requirements
- Current State certification as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) required.
- Complete familiarity with the duties and responsibilities of a Certified Nursing Assistant.
- Strong observation and patient care skills required.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.
- Ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting and physical demands of the role.
Nice To Haves
- Previous rehabilitation, acute care, hospital, or skilled nursing experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care to patients in a manner conducive to their safety, comfort, and well-being consistent with hospital policies and procedures.
- Promote and support the greatest possible degree of independence for patients.
- Assist patients with activities of daily living including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, feeding, mobility, and repositioning.
- Communicate patient status, observations, and concerns to the supervising nurse at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Contribute knowledge of patient conditions and needs to care plans.
- Assist in the implementation of care plans as directed within established policies and procedures.
- Observe, report, and document patient conditions and changes as required.
- Comply with safe lifting, transfer, and mobility procedures in accordance with hospital policy.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hazard-free environment for patients, visitors, and staff.
- Ensure equipment is clean, functional, and available for patient care needs.
- Perform incidental housekeeping or support tasks as necessary to maintain patient care areas.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
