This is a part-time (0.6 FTE) PM position for a CNA/Certified Nursing Assistant in the Neuro ICU at Aurora St. Lukes Medical Center. The schedule involves three 8-hour shifts per week, from 3pm to 11pm, with an every-other-weekend obligation. The role focuses on assisting Registered Nurses (RNs) with the daily care of patients, including personal hygiene, feeding, mobility, and monitoring vital signs. Accurate documentation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and effective communication with the RN are essential. The position also involves participating in patient admission, transfer, and discharge processes, managing patient call lights, collecting specimens, and maintaining the nursing area. The CNA will perform various patient positioning and transporting duties, assist with nutritional needs, and help maintain skin integrity. Depending on unit requirements and under RN direction, tasks like removing IVs, providing post-mortem care, and performing bladder scans may be required. Adherence to infection prevention policies, including hand hygiene and aseptic techniques, is critical. The role requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care, demonstrating knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan.
