CNA, Behavioral Health Unit, Full Time Days
About The Position
Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is opening a new facility at 6225 Sharlands Ave. in Northwest Reno, offering expanded adult behavioral health services. This new program will serve adults 18 years and older, building upon the existing services for those 50 and older at NNMC. The department operates as a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, nurses, CNAs, social workers, and therapists. Patients will receive individualized care plans that encompass individual and family therapy, activities, medication management, and a secure, compassionate 24-hour environment. This full-time CNA position involves 36 hours per week on a day shift schedule, with full benefits. The role requires providing safe, competent nursing assistant care and professional support to the healthcare team, with Patient Centered Care and Service Excellence as foundational principles.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited C.N.A program
- Current Nevada C.N.A. license
- Current BLS certificate.
Responsibilities
- Completes Bedside shift report in the room at the beginning and end of each shift.
- Ensures patient is provided with the names and contact numbers for members of the care team on the communication board every shift.
- Meets with Supervising RN at the beginning of each shift to receive delegation of tasks.
- Involves the patient and family psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population specific, and diversity needs in care.
- Follows facility policies and procedures to promote patient safety (i.e. safe environment, equipment safety practices, radiation safety, fire prevention, etc.).
- Adheres to fall precautions by performing/assisting patients with toileting/ADL care and never leaving the patient alone.
- If assistance is needed, CNA is able to ask/call or help while remaining with the patient.
