About The Position

Here at Franklin County Medical Center, we have a vision: be the premier healthcare provider and facility of choice for the community. A non-profit critical access hospital, we house 20 beds in our acute care facility and 35 beds in our nursing facility. With three operating rooms, a procedure room, and advanced technology, we provide excellent care for our surgical patients. Our recently constructed 24,000 square foot medical office provides valuable access, accommodations, and services to the community. FCMC was recognized as one of the “Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals” in the nation for four consecutive years from 2017-2020. Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant in the State of Idaho or willing to obtain CNA within 120 days of hire
  • Must be CPR-certified
  • Must have a working knowledge of basic healthcare equipment including wheelchairs, electrical beds, lift equipment, carts, scales, and vital sign analysis equipment
  • Must be able to competently and positively work with residents, other employees, and the public
  • Regular and predictable attendance is required
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, or twist
  • Occasionally required to sit, climb, or balance
  • Occasionally required to operate foot controls and lifts
  • Frequently able to move or push up to 35 pounds, and occasionally able to lift, carry, move, or push up to 100 pounds
  • Required vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and peripheral vision
  • Must comply with HIPAA and patient privacy
  • Must wear PPE when situations require

Responsibilities

  • Making or recommending necessary judgments with a patient’s individual needs in mind
  • Establishing patient care goals and measuring health outcomes against these goals and standards
  • Teaching patients, family, and friends to understand the patients’ conditions and necessary medication and self-care skills
  • Supervising and collaborating with other members of the nursing care team to ensure that each patient’s needs are met
  • Documenting patient care
  • Adhering to medication administration and storage procedures, controlled substance regulations, and infection control policies
  • Maintaining professional and technical knowledge
