About The Position

We are seeking a highly organized and experienced Manager to oversee daily operations for our third-party testing and inspection firm. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of construction materials testing, and the ability to coordinate field and office activities across multiple regions. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing people, processes in a fast-paced environment, effective communicator and result driven.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in construction
  • 3 years inspection, and materials testing
  • 3 years in Management
  • Appropriate construction materials testing and inspection certifications (ACI, ICC, NICET, etc.); previously held certifications must be reinstated within 3-9 months if expired.
  • Ability to perform field inspections, testing, and documentation when needed
  • OSHA 10 certification required
  • Proven experience in office administration, coordination, or operations support
  • Strong organizational, time-management, and multitasking abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Basic understanding of safety practices, OSHA principles, and field compliance requirements
  • Ability to conduct training and assist with onboarding new employees
  • Comfortable attending and leading team, safety, and client meetings
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and digital filing systems
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience with or exposure to scheduling/dispatch software/Timecard software
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between Idaho Falls, Pocatello, Wyoming, and surrounding areas
  • General computer skills such as: Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint.
  • General understanding of construction.
  • Complete/submit field reports accurately.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day activities across multiple service lines, ensuring efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery.
  • Align technician assignments with the appropriate training and certification requirements.
  • Verify accuracy of billing, review invoices, and support financial tracking for ongoing projects.
  • Lead staffing efforts including hiring, onboarding, performance management, employee health and safety oversight, and terminations when necessary.
  • Drive client satisfaction and retention through proactive relationship management, issue resolution, and consistent, high value communication.
  • Assist in preparing proposals and cost estimates for future projects and new business opportunities.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly and quarterly budget meetings, supporting financial planning and operational forecasting.
  • Maintain laboratory accreditation and ensure all personnel certifications remain current and compliant with industry standards.
  • Provide training, mentorship, and technical guidance to staff to support professional growth and maintain competency.
  • Monitor and manage inventory needs for testing and inspection equipment, ensuring availability and compliance with calibration requirements.
