About The Position

NOVA Engineering is hiring a Field Engineer/Threshold Inspector to work on Construction Materials Testing and Special Inspection projects throughout the Tallahassee, Florida area. The role offers the opportunity to work on prominent projects across the southeastern United States, with room for career advancement. The position entails approximately 80% fieldwork and 20% office work, with occasional travel.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution, or an equivalent international degree with NCEES credential evaluation.
• At least 4 years of experience in construction testing and inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials.
• E.I.T. certification is required.
• Experience with Structural Threshold Inspection.
• Strong communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience with concrete and ICC, PTI, and ACI certifications.

Responsibilities

• Perform staff and project engineering duties, including data reduction, analysis, and fieldwork for commercial, industrial, retail, government, office, and residential projects involving Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing/Inspection.
• Assist with project management and reporting.
• Conduct field inspection, sampling, and testing of soils, foundations, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, and related materials.
• Prepare reports.
• Consult with clients and maintain client relationships.
• Assist other NOVA team members in support of the company's overall objectives.
