Purpose Communicates and resolves Quality related issues in a fast paced manufacturing environment by performing 1st part and final inspections as necessary. Supports the Quality and Manufacturing functions by educating employees on quality systems, quality metrics, and customer engineering. Follows the quality management system designated work instruction and procedures to ensure quality product is manufactured. Generates CMM programs utilizing PC-DMIS metrology software.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of knowledge and experience in a Quality Assurance role with product acceptance authority
  • Minimum of 2 years experience programming utilizing PC-DMIS
  • Must possess experience using different precision measurement instruments
  • Must possess experience operating and programming coordinate measuring machines
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact and deal with internal customers
  • Requires repetitive movement.
  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time and working on a computer.
  • Requires occasional bending, twisting and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Requires accessing various departments within multiple locations.
  • Requires telephone conversations.
  • Requires use of electronic mail (e-mail).
  • Requires writing professional documents, letters and memos.
  • Requires contact and discussion with individuals or teams (face-to-face, by telephone, or otherwise).

Responsibilities

  • Ensure CMM programs meet DPD/MBD and engineering requirements
  • Corrects and revises CMM Programs as needed to support manufacturing needs
  • Trains operators on proper CMM usage
  • Responsible for maintaining and sustaining CMM programs
  • Provide training, learning and development where appropriate for all employees
  • Partner with other departments to ensure the adherence to the Quality Management System and other compliance requirements.
  • Collaborates with operations, leaders, purchasing, customer service and others to efficiently meet customer demand.
  • Inspects and evaluates products for quality and defects.
  • Provide visibility to supervision of potential quality issues, as well as input on internal perceptions associated with Quality and Delivery performance.
  • Works with Manufacturing and Quality Assurance personnel to perform in process review and assure best practices are followed.
  • Completes AS9102 FAIs as required
  • Ensures products manufactured meet all customer requirements
  • Performs other related duties, as required
  • Has the capability to troubleshoot complex and questionable inspections by asking the right questions to get to the root cause of the problem
  • Ability to work in a dynamic environment with multiple priorities and shifting time requirements.
  • Makes decisions based on customer/regulatory requirements
  • Ability to effectively communicate in small and large group environments
  • Confer with organizational team members at all levels to discuss issues, coordinate activities or resolve problems.
  • Act as liaison between organization and outside organizations.
  • Work closely with shop floor supervision and employees
  • Perform 1st part, Oversight, and Final Inspections
  • Complete detailed and accurate FAI's
