About The Position

We are seeking an experienced CMM Programmer to join our Life Science Team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience operating and programming ZEISS Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs) using CALYPSO software. This role is responsible for performing first article, in-process, and final inspections of precision-machined components, ensuring compliance with engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The successful candidate must also possess strong manual inspection skills and a thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience operating and programming ZEISS CMMs using CALYPSO.
  • Strong understanding and practical application of GD&T
  • Experience inspecting precision-machined components.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency using standard metrology and inspection equipment.
  • Experience generating inspection reports and documenting inspection results.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Measurement System Analysis (MSA).
  • Experience supporting PPAP, FAI, and validation activities.
  • Familiarity with ISO 9001 quality systems.

Responsibilities

  • Program, operate, and troubleshoot ZEISS CMMs using CALYPSO software.
  • Develop, modify, and optimize CMM inspection programs for new and existing products.
  • Perform first article, in-process, final, and capability inspections.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, and quality standards.
  • Conduct manual inspections using precision measuring equipment, including: Micrometers, Calipers, Height gages, Bore gages, Optical comparators, Other inspection tools as required.
  • Verify product conformity to GD&T requirements and customer specifications.
  • Analyze inspection data and generate detailed inspection reports using Microsoft Excel.
  • Investigate dimensional nonconformances and support root cause analysis activities.
  • Maintain calibration awareness and proper care of inspection equipment.
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Quality teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and quality system requirements.
