About The Position

Operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to perform dimensional layouts for the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), internal and customer-requested capability studies, and other measurement requirements. Maintain the Calibration Program and assist with overall conformance to company policies and procedures. The position works Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM and pays $23 to $31 per hour. The role also supports the Quality Department through statistical studies and reporting, calibration activities, process audits, and problem solving. The employee must be able to meet the stated physical demands, with reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED, or one to three months of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Intermediate computer skills with Windows-based software.
Ability to stand, walk, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and talk or hear regularly.
Ability to climb or balance frequently.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Close, distance, color, and peripheral vision; depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to work with handheld power tools, including drills, heat guns, screwdrivers, and hammers.

Responsibilities

Operate the Coordinate Measuring Machine with expertise and reasonable speed.
Understand the software used for statistical studies and CAD data.
Prepare statistical calculations and reports.
Understand and continuously improve the Calibration Program.
Maintain the Calibration Program and keep calibrations up to date.
Perform in-house calibration scheduling to ensure affected equipment is calibrated on time.
Perform capability studies and Gage R&Rs.
Perform Layered Process Audits.
Assist with problem solving and other functions in the Quality Department.
Assist with conformance to company policies and procedures.
