Job Summary Responsible for programming, setting up, and operating Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM) to inspect complex parts and assemblies, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a CMM Programmer Operator in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in CMM programming software such as PC-DMIS
  • Strong understanding manufacturing processes, CNC Milling, EDM, and plastic injection mold assembly and operation.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering blueprints, schematics, and 3D models.
  • Experience with various measurement tools and techniques (e.g., micrometers, calipers, height gauges, optical comparators).
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Ability to lift and move up to 25 pounds as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Associates Degree in Quality, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and write CMM programs using PC-DMIS from 3D models, blueprints, and engineering specifications.
  • Set up and calibrate CMM equipment, fixtures, and probes for inspection routines.
  • Operate CMM to perform dimensional inspections of components, sub-assemblies, and finished products.
  • Interpret and analyze inspection data, generating detailed inspection reports and identifying non-conformances.
  • Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to troubleshoot measurement issues and improve inspection processes.
  • Maintain and perform minor preventative maintenance on CMM equipment.
  • Participate in first article inspections (FAI), in-process inspections, and final inspections.
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with established quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
  • Train and mentor junior operators on CMM operation and basic programming.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of inspection methods and technologies.
