About The Position

The Quality Assurance Inspector/CMM is responsible for ensuring that materials, components, subassemblies, and finished products manufactured by Ancra Aircraft meet all customer, regulatory, engineering, and quality system requirements. This position performs receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections to verify compliance with AS9100 standards, engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements. The Quality Assurance Inspector plays a critical role in ensuring product conformity, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and maintaining the highest levels of product quality and safety within the aerospace industry.

Requirements

  • Strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) in accordance with ASME Y14.5.
  • Working knowledge of AS9100 quality management system requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Minimum of 5 years of quality inspection experience in aerospace, aviation, precision machining, or related manufacturing environments.
  • Experience performing dimensional inspections and interpreting complex engineering drawings and GD&T requirements.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience using CMM equipment and PC-DMIS software.
  • Experience performing AS9102 First Article Inspections.
  • IPC-A-610 and/or J-STD-001 certification preferred.
  • Experience within aerospace, aviation, military, or highly regulated manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform receiving, in-process, first article, and final inspections of materials, components, assemblies, and finished products.
  • Verify product conformity to engineering drawings, specifications, work instructions, planning requirements, and customer requirements.
  • Inspect machined parts, fabricated components, aerospace hardware, assemblies, and purchased materials.
  • Conduct dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with AS9100, customer-specific requirements, and internal quality procedures.
  • Properly operate and maintain inspection equipment, including: Calipers, Micrometers, Height Gages, Pin Gages, Plug and Thread Gages, Optical Comparator, Radius Gages, Hardness Testers, Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMM), including Hexagon CMM utilizing PC-DMIS software.
  • Create, review, and maintain AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) and ballooned drawings.
  • Review and verify material certifications, test reports, certificates of conformity, and special process certifications.
  • Maintain accurate inspection records and quality documentation.
  • Document and process nonconforming material reports (NMRs) in accordance with established procedures.
  • Support corrective action investigations and root cause analysis activities as required.
  • Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, specifications, GD&T requirements, and manufacturing documentation.
  • Verify compliance of purchased materials and outside processing requirements.
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory audits as required.
  • Assist with continuous improvement initiatives focused on quality, process effectiveness, and product conformity.
  • Promote a culture of quality and compliance throughout the organization.
