About The Position

This role is responsible for operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) to inspect incoming patterns according to customer work instructions. The operator will maintain logs, notify supervision of any issues, and perform core scan inspections. Additionally, the role involves performing minor de-flashing to ensure proper pattern running, labeling inspected patterns for data traceability, and monitoring inspection results to maintain product flow. The operator will also be responsible for running alignments and calibrations, meeting production rates, accurately filling out production time sheets, and adhering to all safety and 6-S guidelines.

Requirements

• Must be detail oriented
• Ability to carefully work with delicate equipment
• Must possess or be trained in basic computer skills
• Physical ability to carry and move various tools up to 35 pounds
• An understanding of the English language is necessary
• Ability to effectively communicate with supervision and engineering as necessary

Responsibilities

• Follows the customer work instructions to properly run CMM programs on incoming patterns
• Follows the customer work instructions to properly run core scan programs
• Fully understand and carry out all procedures in the case of inspection failure as listed in department work instruction
• Perform minor de-flashing as necessary to ensure patterns can properly run
• Label all non-serialized inspected patterns to ensure data traceability
• Accurately monitor inspection results to maintain product flow and identify issues
• Perform additional higher-level tasks as necessary (running alignments, calibrations, etc.)
• Meet the designated rates for production and accurately fill production time sheets
• Follow all safety and 6-S guidelines for the area
