About The Position

North American Stamping Group is expanding and looking to hire an experienced Quality Inspector (CMM Operator) to join their team. The Quality Inspector reports to the Quality Manager or designate, performing primarily office and non-manual quality functions designed to service Production through consultation and oversight. North American Stamping Group is a privately held company founded in 1978, specializing in innovative processes and technologies within the automotive industry. They are a Tier II supplier of components, systems, and aftermarket products for the automotive industry, with a core business market consisting of seating, ride control, exhaust components, heat shields, noise, vibration and harness (NVH), chassis and structural, and window regulators. Their sales have grown annually at a compounded rate of 18.0% for the last eight years, tripling their business and establishing them as one of the largest leading Tier II automotive stamping and assembly suppliers. Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years manufacturing experience
  • 3-5 years PC DMIS programming experience
  • 2 years CMM Operation
  • Understanding of Control Plans, FMEA's, Flow Diagrams, and In-Process Inspection
  • Knowledge of GD&T, SPC, Gage R&R, and gage use
  • Ability to work both days and afternoons on a rotation (schedule can be discussed)
  • Understanding of problem solving and root cause analysis
  • Detail oriented and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to solve problems utilization TQPS methodology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with PPAP creator and/or Step Ahead an asset

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining Gage Calibration and maintenance program
  • CMM Operation and part verification to support NASG's quality system as necessary
  • Perform annual validations / PPAP as required
  • Perform routine inspections, dimensional studies, and investigations, as necessary
  • Provide support in the absence of the quality engineer
  • Serve as Champion in corrective action process as assigned
  • Participate, support, and lead in data collection for problem solving teams
  • CMM Programming using PC DMIS
  • CMM Program maintenance after programs and set up are established
  • Organizational skills to maintain CMM programs and gage calibration in compliance with Quality department and QMS procedures and requirements
  • Ability to speak and write in English and act as a liaison between production and quality
