About The Position

CHEST is seeking a CME Grant Development Manager to develop and manage grant-funded education programs for continued growth. This role involves identifying new continuing medical education (CME) and continuing education (CE) grant opportunities, cultivating relationships with supporters in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries, and achieving revenue goals for grant contributions to various CHEST educational initiatives. Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of directly relevant experience in business development.
  • Strong knowledge of CME/CE, including identification of gaps and needs, Moore’s levels of outcome assessment, and different teaching modalities (live learning, e-Learning, print, enduring products).
  • Demonstrated success in securing funding for a variety of CME/CE programs.
  • Familiarity with pharmaceutical industry; demonstrated ability to establish and maintain contacts.
  • Understanding of grant submission processes and all aspects of grant proposal including but not limited to, learning objectives, needs assessment, and evaluation plan.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to discuss healthcare trends, medical education, and CHEST mission, vision, and educational priorities.
  • Ability to manage and balance multiple competing priorities/projects.
  • Ability to influence and negotiate through written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to identify and build collaborative solutions that provide organizational opportunities.
  • Ability to identify and cultivate relationships and alliances.
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.
  • Ability to adhere to CHEST's hybrid work schedule, which includes 2 days per week work-from-home, and 3 days per week onsite at CHEST headquarters in Glenview. Tuesday and Wednesday are CHEST's anchor days, and a 3rd onsite day will be decided between employee and supervisor.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain understanding of CHEST priorities for education.
  • Identify funding opportunities from commercial supporters (pharmaceutical and medical device industry) and other supporters of CE/CME that align with CHEST education priorities.
  • Manage and expand opportunities for CME Satellite symposia at CHEST Annual Meeting and other events.
  • Support the development of strategy for CE/CME programs with CHEST Education, Digital Learning, and other internal teams.
  • Manage all phases of the grant development process and submission of grant proposals to potential funding organizations; including document creation, writing LORs and proposals, creating budgets, and entry of all relevant information into grant portals.
  • Manage work completed by any third parties used to complete proposals including establishing timelines and fees.
  • Monitor industry developments in CE/CME, including new and emerging educational modalities.
  • Make recommendations for program design.
  • Ensure that grant funded programs meet compliance and reporting standards, and that interim reports, final reports, and reconciliations are completed and submitted to funders on time.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with industry supporters, including pharmaceutical and device industry.
  • Identify and maintain relationships with collaborators including medical education companies and other providers of medical education.
  • Participate in negotiation of grant awards, contracts, and agreements.
  • Ensure that grant awards and letters of agreement are routed and approved through internal CHEST processes.
  • Proactively monitor and changing grant standards, funder guidelines, compliance requirements and support ongoing grant readiness.
  • Other duties as assigned.
