CMC Quality Engineer

GE Aerospace•Asheville, NC

About The Position

The Quality Engineer will work with CMC technology at GE Aviation’s Asheville facility, which manufactures ceramic matrix composite (CMC) hardware for 9X, LEAP, and military systems. The role reviews product quality associated with manufacturing and helps ensure products and services meet quality standards and manufacturing processes are capable and qualified. It affects the quality of the engineer’s own work and that of the team, and involves standard operational and technical tasks generally performed under established instructions and routines. The sequence of tasks may be adjusted as work situations change. The role broadens technical knowledge while applying established policies and strategies. It requires an understanding of business drivers and how the team’s work connects with other teams. The engineer may make decisions within a defined framework, resolve issues requiring technical knowledge and judgment within established procedures, and consult senior team members on issues outside defined instructions or parameters. The role may involve leading a junior team, explaining technical information, and—when customer-facing—building customer relationships and serving as an interface between the customer and GE. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information. Employment is contingent upon proving eligibility as a U.S. Person under the categories stated in the posting. Relocation assistance is provided.
