About The Position

Under the direction of a registered nurse, licensed practical nurse, or practitioner, the CMA performs basic patient care activities. The role includes obtaining and documenting patient vital signs, performing bedside testing and basic nursing procedures, maintaining clean examination areas and equipment, managing supplies, and performing basic clerical duties as needed. The position requires daily patient contact and may involve exposure to blood or other body fluids. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Specialized, short-term training in basic patient care.
Formal nursing assistant and/or medical assistant training.
Knowledge of basic nursing and patient care.

Nice To Haves

Experience in a clinic setting.
Certification in Nurse Assisting or Medical Assisting.

Responsibilities

Obtain and document patient vital signs.
Perform bedside testing.
Perform basic nursing procedures, including oral care, perineal or Foley care, non-sterile soaks, and thermal applications.
Ensure the cleanliness of the office and examination rooms.
Clean and store equipment.
Maintain supply inventory and restock as required.
Perform basic clerical duties as needed.
Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned.
Demonstrate competencies aligned with the hospital’s core values.
Apply age-specific patient-care knowledge and skills appropriate to the position.
Treat information and data within the scope of the position with appropriate confidentiality and security.
