About The Position

This position is for a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or an individual working towards their Medical Assistant certification. The role involves providing quality healthcare to patients independently and collaborating with providers and other nursing staff. The salary range for uncertified medical assistants is $16.17 - $21.81 per hour, and for certified medical assistants, it is $17.37 - $24.05 per hour. The position will remain open until 07/31/2026.

Requirements

  • Graduation within 12 months of hire from an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
  • BLS required.
  • Excellent customer service skills

Nice To Haves

  • Prior medical reception and/or clinical experience.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with clerical duties such as answering phones and greeting patients.
  • Update and maintain patient files and medical records.
  • Schedule appointments and manage provider schedules.
  • Update patient demographics and insurance information in the scheduling program at each visit, cross-checking information in Passport with Practice Partner and Paragon.
  • Create charts on all new patients, explaining individual forms and obtaining signed Consent Forms.
  • Collect co-payment, co-insurance, and/or visit charges and past due amounts on patient accounts. Provide information about CICP programs for self-pay patients.
  • Input all payments into PASSPORT as required by the Billing Department, noting the amount and type of payment.
  • Take vitals, explain treatment procedures, and collect and prepare lab specimens.
  • Authorize prescription refills and manage prescriptions with pharmacies.
  • Sterilize medical equipment and maintain a clean working space.
