About The Position

Performs basic nursing skills, and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional and/or registered nursing staff. This is a Full-Time Float position for Ambulatory Outpatient Clinics, providing coverage as needed. The schedule is based on operational needs and staffing requirements.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain certification in Basic Life Support within 30 days of hire date.
• Current National Certification as CMA.
• One (1) year of healthcare experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments.
• Ability to use and learn software applications.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to work in both an independent and team setting.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patient to exam rooms; prepares for provider visit by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms for patients with attention to cleanliness and availability of supplies.
• Assists with exams, (Adult or Child), procedures and immunizations.
• Schedules appointments and sets up referral contacts as needed.
• Assists provider during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients on follow up expectations.
• Maintains quality control testing logs as required.
• Ensures all medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completion of medical documentation.
• Record test (lab, radiology, etc.) results in patient charts and contact patients as necessary regarding tests.
• Thoroughly clean and stock each examination room weekly.
