About The Position

Providence Country Club is seeking a Clubhouse Steward to join our team. This position will be responsible for maintaining clean, functional areas and equipment throughout the Club for use by members, their guests and fellow employees. The position requires the individual to have a working knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques. The candidate must be able to read and carefully follow directions in the use of various chemicals, tools and equipment used daily and in our preventative maintenance program. The candidate should have the ability to perceive on a priority basis when and where work should be done based on the weekly Club Events schedule and those routine and preventive maintenance schedules established by the Director of Maintenance. Providence Country Club is a McConnell Golf Property.

Requirements

  • Driver’s license
  • 2+ years of experience in facilities maintenance.
  • Ability to learn as we go and at some points be pulled off one job to complete another.
  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before members or employees of McConnell Golf.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Knowledgeable about maintaining, cleaning and preserving a wide variety of surfaces.
  • Follows instructions regarding the use of chemicals and supplies.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform required role in emergency situations.
  • One of more trades cert or 2+ years of training.

Responsibilities

  • Performs work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.
  • Utilizes tools and materials for repairs.
  • Performs touch-up and whole area painting.
  • Repairs lighting fixtures including changing light bulbs and rewiring for Led light bulbs.
  • Report and property damage while doing walk throughs, equipment malfunctions and usual activities as appropriate.
  • Actively supports an inclusive and respectful work environment.
  • Having the willingness to step up and help out any department as needed.
  • Stocks Room Attendant’s cart and hand caddy.
  • Empties wastebaskets and ashtrays.
  • Cleans member areas.
  • Wipes all window sills, walls and light switches.
  • Vacuums rugs and floors.
  • Dusts all furniture and fixtures.
  • Checks lamps for burned-out light bulbs.
  • Checks drapes for missing hooks.
  • Wipes mirrors and windows.
  • Restocks all stationary.
  • Cleans and sanitizes toilets.
  • Wipes shower curtain.
  • Cleans sink and fixtures.
  • Cleans walls, baseboards and floor.
  • Washes, dries and folds towels.
  • Other responsibilities as delegated to by Supervisor.
