Club Sports Video Student Worker
About The Position
The Club Sports Video Student Worker supports video production and media needs for Club Sports and the University as directed by designated supervisors. The role assists with producing shows, creating and editing promotional videos, interviews, event recaps, and postseason coverage, and reviewing video content for publication on Club Sports websites and YouTube channels while maintaining Liberty standards. The worker helps organize and coordinate video shoots; sets up equipment; conducts interviews; films b-roll; operates videoboards at designated sporting events; and creates, loads, and tests videoboard content. The position may also support broadcasts of Club Sports events, work alongside the Flames Central Production Crew, train students in broadcast production and equipment use, and help the University’s marketing department with promotional and television-related materials such as sponsorship ads. The worker serves as a liaison between Club Sports coaches and video or media production when needed, supports coaches and student-athletes as directed, and performs other duties assigned by supervisors. They are expected to stay informed about relevant technologies and industry practices, work effectively as a team member, and embrace and foster LU’s mission. This is a part-time, onsite student position with starting pay of $12.77 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Provide support as directed by the designated supervisor.
- Assist in producing shows.
- Help determine which videos may be accessible on Club Sports websites and YouTube channels.
- Monitor video quality and maintain Liberty standards.
- Create and edit promotional videos for teams.
- Create and edit interviews for updates to interactive and video experiences on Club Sports websites.
- Create and edit video recaps of Club Sporting events.
- Help organize and coordinate video shoots.
- Set up video equipment for shoots.
- Conduct interviews and film b-roll during shoots.
- Operate videoboards at designated Club Sports events.
- Assist with creating videos, graphics, and other videoboard content.
- Load and test videoboard content to ensure files are correctly formatted and run properly.
- Serve as a liaison between Club Sports coaches and video or media production as needed.
- Train students in broadcast production of Club Sports events for Flames Central as needed.
- Work alongside the Flames Central Production Crew and serve as a production crew member when needed.
- Assist Liberty’s marketing department with promotional videos and television-related items, including broadcast sponsorship ads.
- Assist with broadcasting Club Sports events as needed.
- Train students to use equipment.
- Create and produce postseason coverage for certain Club Sports teams.
- Support departmental needs and provide assistance to coaches and student-athletes as needed or directed.
- Complete duties assigned by supervisor(s).
- Stay abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
- Work effectively as a team member while embracing and fostering LU’s mission.
