About The Position

This is a part-time, onsite student worker position supporting Club Sports video production. The role involves assisting in the production of shows, filtering video content for accessibility, maintaining quality standards, and creating/editing various video content including promotional videos, interviews, and event recaps. The student worker will also assist with organizing and coordinating video shoots, setting up equipment, conducting interviews, filming b-roll, and operating videoboards during club sporting events. Additional responsibilities include content creation for video boards, loading and testing content, serving as a liaison between Club Sport coaches and video/media production, training other students on broadcast production, working with the Flames Central Production Crew, assisting Liberty's marketing department, broadcasting Club Sport events, and training students on equipment use. The role also includes creating post-season coverage for specific teams and performing other duties as assigned by supervisors, while staying current with emerging technologies and embracing the university's mission.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Producing shows.
• Assist in filtering what videos are allowed to be accessible on Club Sports website, and YouTube Channels.
• Monitors quality & maintains Liberty standards.
• Creating and editing promotional videos for teams.
• Creating and editing interviews for updates to interactive/video experience on Club Sport websites.
• Creating and editing video recaps from Club Sporting events.
• Assists in Organizing & Coordinating video shoots.
• Setting up video equipment for video shoots.
• Conducting interviews and filming b-roll during shoots.
• Help Operate Videoboards at specific club sporting events.
• Run Videoboards at sporting events.
• Assists in content creation (videos, graphics, etc.) for video boards.
• Load and Test content to insure files are in correct format and running properly on videoboard.
• Assists in helping serve as a Liaison between Club Sport coaches and video/media production (As Needed).
• Train students to do Broadcast production of Club Sport events for Flames Central (As Needed).
• Working with/alongside Flames Central Production Crew.
• Work as a member of Production Crew when needed.
• Assist with helping Liberty’s marketing department on promotional videos & TV related items – sponsorship ads for broadcast etc…
• Assist in Broadcasting Club Sport events (As Needed).
• Train students on use of equipment.
• Create and produce post season coverage for certain teams within Club Sports.
• Serve in a capacity that supports the needs of the department.
• Provide support to coaches/Student-athletes as needed or directed.
• Assigned duties from supervisor(s).
• Remains abreast of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
• Works effectively as a team member, embracing and fostering LU’s mission.

Benefits

• Paid at least the current Virginia minimum wage per hour.
