About The Position

This is a part-time, onsite student worker position. The role involves providing support as directed by a designated supervisor in various media production tasks for Club Sports. This includes assisting in producing shows, creating and editing promotional and interview videos, filming events, operating videoboards, and potentially assisting with live streaming and broadcasting. The student worker will also help with post-season coverage, travel with teams to national events, and stay updated on emerging technologies in the media production field. The position emphasizes teamwork and adherence to the university's mission.

Requirements

  • Ability to provide support as directed by a designated supervisor.
  • Ability to assist in producing shows.
  • Ability to filter videos for accessibility on Club Sports website and YouTube Channels.
  • Ability to monitor quality and maintain Liberty standards.
  • Ability to create and edit promotional videos for teams.
  • Ability to create and edit interviews for updates to interactive/video experience on Club Sport websites.
  • Ability to create and edit video recaps from Club Sporting events.
  • Ability to assist in organizing & coordinating video shoots.
  • Ability to set up video equipment for video shoots.
  • Ability to conduct interviews and film b-roll during shoots.
  • Ability to help operate Videoboards at specific club sporting events.
  • Ability to run Videoboards at sporting events.
  • Ability to assist in content creation (videos, graphics, etc.) for video boards.
  • Ability to load and test content to insure files are in correct format and running properly on videoboard.
  • Ability to assist in helping serve as a liaison between Club Sport coaches and video/media production (As Needed).
  • Ability to train students to do Broadcast production of Club Sport events for Flames Central (As Needed).
  • Ability to work with/alongside Flames Central Production Crew.
  • Ability to work as a member of Production Crew when needed.
  • Ability to assist with helping Liberty’s marketing department on promotional videos & TV related items – sponsorship ads for broadcast etc…
  • Ability to assist in Broadcasting Club Sport events (As Needed).
  • Ability to live stream on the Internet.
  • Ability to stream on Flames Central and ESPN+.
  • Ability to train students on use of equipment.
  • Ability to organize and provide leadership for video coverage of Club Sports events not scheduled to be covered.
  • Ability to create and produce post season coverage for certain teams within Club Sports.
  • Ability to travel with teams to national events.
  • Ability to film b-roll and conduct interviews at national events.
  • Ability to create and edit video content recapping national events.
  • Ability to remain up to date of existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services and leading industry performance benchmarks.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing shows, including filtering videos for the Club Sports website and YouTube channels, and monitoring quality to maintain Liberty standards.
  • Create and edit promotional videos for teams.
  • Create and edit interviews for updates to interactive/video experiences on Club Sport websites.
  • Create and edit video recaps from Club Sporting events.
  • Assist in organizing and coordinating video shoots.
  • Set up video equipment for video shoots.
  • Conduct interviews and film b-roll during shoots.
  • Operate Videoboards at specific club sporting events, including running videoboards, creating content (videos, graphics) for video boards, and loading/testing content.
  • Serve as a liaison between Club Sport coaches and video/media production as needed, including training students for broadcast production and working with the Flames Central Production Crew.
  • Assist Liberty's marketing department on promotional videos and TV-related items, such as sponsorship ads for broadcast.
  • Assist in broadcasting Club Sport events as needed, including live streaming on the internet, streaming on Flames Central and ESPN+, training students on equipment use, and organizing video coverage for events not scheduled.
  • Create and produce post-season coverage for certain teams within Club Sports, which may involve traveling with teams to national events, filming b-roll, conducting interviews, and creating/editing video content.
  • Remain up-to-date on existing and emerging technologies, processes, products, services, and leading industry performance benchmarks.
