About The Position

The Club Sponsor/Coach sponsors and plans an assigned school extracurricular program. The role promotes extracurricular programs in schools and the community, organizes and supervises practices and meetings, and teaches participants fundamental skills. The sponsor checks participant eligibility, including insurance coverage and parent consent, and provides students with a positive role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude, and general guidance. The position also recommends equipment and supply purchases as appropriate for participants’ health, safety, and welfare. The employee performs related duties as assigned, maintains a professional appearance and regular attendance, adheres to the Professional Code of Ethics, and follows McCracken County Public Schools policies and procedures.

Requirements

Knowledge of the fundamentals of various extracurricular activities.
Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
Ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
Education equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, and a certificate or a minimum of 64 semester hours from an accredited college or university.
Successful completion of a criminal records check.
Current first aid and CPR certification.

Responsibilities

Promote extracurricular programs in schools and the community.
Plan the assigned extracurricular program.
Organize and supervise practices and meetings.
Teach individual fundamental skills of the extracurricular activity.
Check participant eligibility, including insurance coverage and parent consent.
Provide students with a proper role model, emotional support, patience, a friendly attitude, and general guidance.
Recommend equipment and supply purchases as appropriate for participants’ health, safety, and welfare.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Maintain a professional appearance and regular attendance.
