About The Position

Assist coaches in secondary school athletic programs, including track. Support daily and long-range athletic activities and athletic program planning. Under the direction of head coaches, conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes and help guide participants toward harmonious team spirit. Assist with escorting and supervising athletes during team travel. Recommend equipment, supplies, and uniforms to the head coach as appropriate for student athletes’ health, safety, and welfare. Perform other non-coaching duties assigned by the principal, athletic director, or head coach. Punctual and regular attendance is required.

Requirements

• Knowledge of the fundamentals of various sports.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations.
• Interpersonal skills using tact, patience, and courtesy.
• Ability to assist coaches in one or more sports.
• Ability to understand and follow oral and written directions.
• Ability to read, interpret, apply, and explain rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work confidentially with discretion.
• High school diploma or GED certificate, or demonstrated progress toward obtaining a GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Successful completion of a criminal record check and AIDS awareness training.
• Current certification in first aid and CPR.
